Haiku poem

We have been learning about Haiku Poems. A Haiku is a poem where you can draw a picture with the words you write. It only has three lines. The first line has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables and the last line has 5 syllables. Here is a poem I have written.

Friends are always nice.
Friendship is a happy thing.
Friendship is special.

My Five W Poem

This is the 5 W poem I wrote.

THE SUN

Shining like a big bright star, 12 hours a day.

It has shining relations far,far away.

It shines on every country at different times of day.

Shining down on living things so we can survive!

Helping me to stay alive!

It protects us, not harms us!

A network of friends

Friends are fair and funny.

Really reliable and respectful.

Intresting and inspiring

Each friend is enjoyable.

Nice friends are necessary.

Delightful friends are dynamic.

Alliteration in Term 4

This is the start of a new term-Term 4.

This term we have been learning about alliteration. Alliteration is when the same sound is repeated in a sentence. Here's an example. Brilliant Becky bent bones. Has the next sentence got alliteration? Georgia gave Jim goo. No. It hasn't. It hasn't got any sounds that are the same in that sentence.
This term we have also been learning about friends. We have been doing a friendship flower and a friendship hand. The friendship flower has five petals. In each petal you have to write a friend group like Uncles and Aunts,Brothers and Sisters,Parents,Grandparents, Neighbours, School friends,Teachers and there are probably many more groups. Then under each group you have to write what you would exchange with that friend. In my friendship flower I did some acrostic poems.

My thoughts on Myths and Legends

For the last few weeks we have been working on Myths and Legends. My partner and I wrote a myth on Why Australia is so Flat.
Our story was about a cyclone, a assistant, a king, a queen and a platypus who saves the day. The cyclone was angry that Australia was so high so he got his assistant to kidnap the King and Queen. The assistant captured the King and Queen. Then he asks the cyclone what he could do next. The cyclone said to put them in the cellar. So the assistant put the King and Queen in the cellar.
The platypus heard the cries of the King and Queen and went to save the King and Queen but by this time the cyclone had made Australia very flat. Now Australia is flatter than any country in the world. That was just a brief outline of our story.

Dear Diary-what I think bullying is

I think bulling is saying something mean or doing horrible things to others. If someone says something mean to you, just walk away and ignore them. Don't do anything bad to them. Just because someone did something mean to you it doesn't mean you should do something mean back. Even though they might deserve it, you don't want to be a bully. Anyway two wrongs don't make a right. Everyone should be the best they can be!
